Some Tunes Pt. 2


DJ Steaw kommt aus Renne in Frankreich und hat mit seinen bisherigen Produktionen ein paar wirklich schöne Beiträge zur momentan vieler Orts merklichen Rückbesinnung auf die guten alten Tugenden des Oldschool House geleistet. Bisherige Veröffentlichungen gab's von ihm auf Qualomota Records, Phonogramme und zuletzt auch auf Local Talk, dass seit 2011 von Schweden aus als Plattform für eben erwähnten, tugendendhaften Sound agiert und auf der auch das vorliegende Stück "Sky Hunt" erschien.

DJ Steaw is from Renne in France and enriched the output of todays oldschool house goodness with some really nice productions. By now he released on labels like Qualomota Records, Phonogramme and recently on Local Talk, a label that is acting since 2011 from Sweden as a base for the previously mentioned  oldschool house tunes and has also released the track "Sky Hunt".



Ebenfalls vom klassischen deepen Sound aus Detroit und Chicago inspiriert wurde der junge italienische Produzent und DJ Fabio Monesi. Er ist Inhaber des Labels Wilson Records, dass seit 2012 mit auschließlich auf Vinyl erscheinenden Veröffentlichungen Akzente setzt. "Momma's Groove", dass sich gekonnt dem bereits bei Osunlade heiss geliebten Vocal Sample annimmt, lässt sich auf der ersten Platte des Labels wiederfinden.

Also inspired by the the vintage feel of Detroit and Chicago deepness is the young italian Producer and DJ Fabio Monesi. He is the owner of the Label Wilson Records which came up in 2012 with vinyl only releases to pleasure those who recognized since. "Momma's Groove" is skilful reworking the beloved vocal sample from Osunlades same titled track and can be found on the first record of the label.



Er ist mir in der letzten Zeit als einer der wirklich richtig fleißigen Produzenten aufgefallen, der nicht nur viel sondern dabei auch noch qualitativ immer hochwertig kann. Neben zahlreichen eigenen Produktionen und Remixen gab's ja da auch noch die von ihm klangtechnisch optimierte Neuauflage alter Nu Groove Klassiker in Form der "Back on Track" Serie. Die Rede ist von Nicholas aus Perugia in Italien, der hier mit "Without You" eine durschlagskräftige Disco Bombe abgeworfen hat. Veröffentlicht wurde der Titel auf Dikso Records, dem Label von Andi de Luxe und Daniel Solar die dem geneigten Beachter unseres Soultunes Podcasts bestimmt noch im Gedächtnis geblieben sind.

He grapped my attention as one of the probably most hardworking producer of these days who is not only doing a lot of tracks and remixes but also does quality stuff. Besides his own productions and remixes there has also been his sound refreshing reworks of old Nu Groove classics in the form of the "Back on Track" series. I'm talking about Nicholas from Perugia in Italy who built "Without You" as an amazing disco bomb to make all lovers explode on the dancefloor. The track came out on Dikso Records, the label of Andi de Luxe and Daniel Solar who might still be in mind of the listeners of our Soultunes Podcast.



Adriatique & Thyladomid haben mit ihrer Kollaboration bei "The Year 2080" einen für den Abschluss dieses Beitrages wirklich mehr als geeigneten Hybrid aus Elektro und Disco an den Start gebracht, der weder mit Groove noch mit Emotion geizt. Erschienen ist das Ganze auf dem Berliner Imprint OFF Recordings.
